Cavities are like a hole in the tooth caused by the build-up of plaque. When we don’t brush or floss well, plaque is left on the teeth and can eat away at the teeth and gums. If left unchecked, it can cause a lot of problems, pain and money to resolve. These are easily found at your preventative care appointment, however, when you keep up with your twice-yearly visits.

What Happens at an Appointment
If found at a regular dental checkup, or if you believe you have a cavity, the dentist will discuss with you the treatment plan. At your filling appointment, you will be given a local anesthetic to numb the area surrounding the problem tooth. A cavity will be filled with a bonded resin that can blend in naturally with your teeth and give you a finished look.
If you are concerned with having a local anesthetic applied, we can use the “Quick Sleeper” method, a tool to administer anesthetic that doesn’t look like a needle and is nearly painless.
If you are experiencing pain or sensitivity, don’t delay. Call 905-878-9882 to schedule a consultation!
